As in the previous workshops in Prague (1995), Versailles (1997), Osaka (1999), Plymouth (2001), Aulla (2003), Marburg (2005), Montevideo (2007), Tainan (2009), Limassol (2010) and Prague (2012), this will be a single track multi-disciplinary event bringing together experimental and computational neuroscientists. The aim of the workshop is to bring together a representative cross-section of these researchers, from biology, physics, computer science, psychology and mathematics, who share a common interest in theoretical, modelling or computational approaches for studying the nervous system. Neural coding in both single neurons and neural networks will be considered, with an emphasis on the links between models and experiments. Ample time will be left for informal discussions in a convivial atmosphere. Various social events will be integrated into the workshop.
The INRA Research Centre in Versailles is located within the park surrounding the Versailles Palace, 2.5 km from the Palace. The centre is provided with full facilities (conference rooms, restaurant etc.). The nearest towns are Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole (at 1 km) and Versailles (at 4 km). From these towns there are easy railway connections with Paris (about 30 min).
