How to access the ISOEN 2015 conference venue

The conference venue can be easily accessed from most of the European cities

The most convenient way to reach the conference venue is to fly to Paris (PAR) and then take the train to Dijon. Paris has two major airports serving international flights: Orly (ORL) and Roissy Charles de Gaulle (CDG). Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport

Roissy Charles de Gaulle is the major french airport, with two terminals, CGD1 & CDG 2 (satellites 2A to 2F).
A free CDGVal LRT shuttle connects airport terminals with the the stations.

From Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport there are direct trains twice a day: 1h45 (TGV)  per day.
If your flight arrives in the evening you can get a direct TGV train from Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport to Dijon, but you have to reserve a seat. Schedule or the conference days:

  • Everyday, Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV: 19:58 > Dijon ville : 21:43, train number 5130.
  • Everyday, Dijon ville : 07:14 > Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV : 09:03, train number 5152.

Otherwise, you should connect to the Gare de Lyon in order to get a TGV to Dijon (train station at CDG 2) [ see By rail ].
Plan your journey from/to Paris CDG airport There are several options open to you:

  • Take the Air France coach from the airport direct to the Gare de Lyon. The bus departs every 30 minutes, and it is the cheapest and easiest option if you have heavy luggage to carry.
  • Take a RER train (underground/subway): you need to buy a special ticket, that allow you tu use also the Metro connection.
    Choose a ticket to 'Paris section urbaine'. The fare is 10 € for one way. The journey duration is approximately 30 min.
    Take the RER Ligne B to Gare du Nord (prefer trains that are direct to Gare du Nord / Paris centre), then cross the platform and change to the RER Ligne D and get off at Gare du Nord. For an underground/subway map visit www.ratp.com you would be well advised however, not to take this option if you are carrying very heavy or cumbersome luggage.
  • Take a taxi straight to the Gare de Lyon (approx. 60 €, plus extra charge for luggage)
  • You can book a Uber Limousine. Pre-booking is mandatory thru the App: AppStore , GooglePlayStore , WindowsPhonestore (approx. 45 €, no charge for luggage)
Paris Orly (ORL) Airport

Plan your journey from / to Paris Orly airport .

If you land at Orly Airport, you may take a taxi to the station or take the paying shuttle to Denfert Rochereau RER station, take the RER Ligne B to the Châtelet-les-Halles station and change to RER Ligne A. Get off at the next station, Gare de Lyon.

You also have two alternative options below to get to Gare de Lyon from Orly. You would be well advised however, not to take these options if you are carrying very heavy or cumbersome luggage.

  • Take the shuttle train (Orlyval) from the airport to the RER station. Then take the RER (underground/subway) to Châlet-Les Halles and transfer to the métro in order to get to the Gare de Lyon.
  • Take the Orly Bus (215) to Denfert Rochereau, departure every 15 minutes.At Denfert Rochereau you can either take a taxi to the Gare de Lyon, or you can take the métro at Denfert Rochereau. Take the Ligne 6 in the direction of "Nation" eight stops to "Bercy". Change to Ligne 14 and go one stop in the direction of "Madeleine" to the Gare de Lyon.
  • You can book a Uber Limousine. Pre-booking is mandatory thru the App: AppStore , GooglePlayStore , WindowsPhonestore (approx. 40 €, no charge for luggage)

Paris Beauvais Airport (low-cost flights)

Shuttles leave from Paris Beauvais airport every 20-25 minutes after each flight arrival and take you directly from the airport to the car park in Porte Maillot. The price is around 20 € and the duration is approximately 1h15.

From the car park at Porte Maillot you should take the metro (walk past the big building "le Palais des Congrès" which you can't miss and then follow the signs for the Metro). From the metro Porte Maillot take Ligne 1 (the yellow one) in the direction of Chateau de Vincennes and get off at the stop Gare de Lyon (in Paris!). This should take around 20 minutes.

Paris Lyon Saint-Exupery (LYS) Airport

Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport is located 25 km to the east of Lyon, and less than an hour away from the region’s major cities by road.

Fast and convenient tram shuttles Rhônexpress leave from Lyon Saint-Exupery airport every 15 minutes (30 minutes at night) and take you directly from the airport to the TGV station Lyon Part-Dieu (terminus)[ see By rail ]. The journey duration is approximately 30 min. Wifi is free on-board.
The fare is 14,60 € for one way and 25,70 €  for return tickets. E-tickets are available.

Geneva (GVA) Airport (Switzerland)

The airport is located at nearly 4 km from Geneva city centre. It is easily reachable by train or by bus using the united network of public transport Unireso .
Only one single ticket is required to travel by train, tram, bus or boat in the area France-Vaud-Geneva. It takes only 6 minutes from/to Geneva city centre by train (every 12 minutes at rush hours).
The airport railway station has direct access to the airport Check-in and Arrival levels.
All trains stop at Geneva-Cornavin station (city centre).

By rail

The SNCF (French national railways) voyage-sncf.com links Dijon with the whole of Europe either by TGV (high speed train) or through its regular railway system. All information can be accessed through their website, including E-tickets booking and delivery.
Note: for TGV trains, reservation is mandatory.
Cardboard tickets should be stamped in the yellow stamping machines at the head of the platforms (warning: don't stamp your smartphone if you have your ticket on it!).
E-tickets include a flashcode and don't need to be stamped
For travelling by rail from Germany , we advise using the Deutsche Bahn website.

By coach

From most of the European countries you can take a cheap Eurolines bus. The bus route stop in Dijon at the Station terminal.
The Eurolines coaches connect all the major European cities together.
Example: from Stuttgart (Germany) to Dijon, 7 h 15 min, return from 89 €.
